Brig. Gen. Brian Wisniewski serves as Mobilization Assistant to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER). In his civilian role, he also works for NASA as the Acting Director of Cybersecurity Services.
Wisnieski, a native of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., proudly represents the third generation of his family to serve in the U.S. military. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps through the Reserve Officers Training Corps program.
Wisniewski has served in both the Active Army and Army Reserve in a variety of roles. He has mobilized numerous times, serving in leadership positions from the company to the command level in the logistics, intelligence, communications and signal, personnel, information assurance, psychological operations, and cyber fields. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Prior to his current position, Wisniewski served as ARCYBER Director of Operations.
Wisniewski earned masters degrees in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University and in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. He is qualified as a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP); Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH); and SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).
His military schooling includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Battalion Motor Officer Course, Psychological Operations Officer Course, National Security Agency Information Assurance Manager Course, and the Army War College.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit; Meritorious Service Medal (two oak leaf clusters); Army Commendation Medal (four oak leaf clusters); Army Achievement Medal (three oak leaf clusters); Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal (M device); Afghanistan Campaign Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral three); and the Air Assault badge.
